Key Responsibilities
Support daily operations of optical coating chambers, including setup, operation, and monitoring
Perform wet and dry cleaning of optical substrates and components
Conduct post-coating visual and dimensional inspections to verify quality and compliance
Package optical components using proper handling and cleanliness standards
Perform coating-related paint and pre-coat processes as required
Cut, prepare, and finish materials according to optical production specifications
Assist with cross-training and knowledge sharing within the production team
Flex between departments and processes based on production priorities
Perform additional manufacturing tasks as needed to support workflow
Required Qualifications
Manufacturing & Optical Experience
Proven hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment; optical manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with vacuum coating systems, optical materials, and precision components is a plus
Formal education in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Metallurgy, or a related discipline is beneficial but not required
Technical Skills & Competencies
Ability to identify process variation and support troubleshooting in optical coating and finishing operations
Comfortable working with delicate optical glass and coated components
Strong attention to detail and commitment to optical quality standards
Mechanical aptitude and experience using production tools and equipment
Adaptable, reliable, and capable of learning new optical processes quickly
Team-focused attitude with the ability to work independently when needed
