Position Summary
Stafkings is looking for a Quality Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing the Quality Management System (QMS) within an engineering and manufacturing environment. This role ensures products, processes, and systems meet internal standards as well as customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. The Quality Manager partners closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement, reduce defects, and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other applicable standards.
Lead quality planning activities from product design through production and delivery.
Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and contractual quality requirements.
Manage internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits.
Analyze quality data, metrics, and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives using structured problem-solving tools.
Collaborate with engineering to support design reviews, FMEAs, and process validations.
Oversee inspection activities, nonconformance management, and material disposition processes.
Work with suppliers to ensure incoming material quality and drive supplier quality improvements.
Train and mentor employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
Serve as the primary quality representative for customers and regulatory bodies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
5+ years of quality leadership experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar).
Experience with audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
CQE, CQM, or other quality-related certification.
Experience in regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, medical, or automotive manufacturing.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience (Green Belt or higher preferred).
Hands-on experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality data analysis.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Manufacturing floor and office environment.
Ability to walk production areas, review processes, and conduct audits.
Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
