Stafkings is looking for a General Accountant II. This position is for a mid-level accounting professional responsible for one of maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role works independently on routine accounting functions while collaborating with senior accountants and management on more complex accounting activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and post journal entries for assigned accounts
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with established deadlines
Prepare and analyze financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation
Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure accurate classification of transactions
Monitor and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations
Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and inventory accounting (if applicable)
Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries in a timely manner
Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3–5 years of general accounting experience
Solid understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices
Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas)
Experience using accounting or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CPA-eligible status
Experience in manufacturing, government, or regulated industries
Familiarity with cost accounting and inventory management
Experience supporting audits and compliance reporting
Advanced Excel or financial systems reporting experience
