We’re seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgical Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you’ll coordinate surgeries, diagnostic tests, and imaging procedures while ensuring efficient use of surgical time and smooth communication between patients, providers, and hospital staff. What You’ll Do
- Schedule hospital-based procedures and surgeries, maximizing efficiency of block time and provider schedules.
- Arrange diagnostic and imaging tests for pre-surgical preparation.
- Coordinate co-surgeries with multiple providers, residents, surgical assistants, and vendor staff.
- Ensure equipment and resources are available for each procedure.
- Provide patients with clear instructions about test prep, arrival times, and follow-up appointments.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
- Document notes and scheduling details in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain strong communication with providers, hospital staff, and patients.
- Assist department colleagues and perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Associate’s degree (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience as a surgical scheduler, or in an operating room or ambulatory surgery center.
- Familiarity with EMR systems (EPIC experience preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to think critically and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
