Responsibilities
Assist with patient intake procedures by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and documenting symptoms accurately.
Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all necessary supplies are available for patient visits.
Support physicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments, including medication administration and minor procedures.
Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information, test results, and treatment plans.
Perform basic laboratory tasks such as specimen collection, processing, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Provide patient education on medication usage, post-procedure care, and health maintenance strategies.
Support administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, ICD coding for billing purposes, and managing patient flow.
Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards across all clinical activities.
Skills
Proven experience in outpatient clinics or hospital settings; familiarity with hospital medicine or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
Proficiency with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions.
Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to ensure accurate documentation and communication.
Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and efficiently.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations.
Familiarity with ICD coding standards for billing accuracy.
Experience working in inpatient settings or Level I/II trauma centers is preferred.
