Job Summary:
We are seeking a Staff Accountant – CPA to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of public accounting experience in a small to mid-size CPA firm. You will be responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, compiling, and reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits of non-profit, governmental, and commercial entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation:
· Prepare individual and business tax returns accurately and efficiently.
· Stay current with tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide optimal tax strategies for clients.
Financial Statements:
· Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements for a variety of clients.
· Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial documents in accordance with professional standards.
Auditing:
· Assist in the planning and execution of audits for non-profit, governmental, and commercial entities.
· Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve financial practices and controls.
Software Utilization:
· Utilize CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Engagement, and QuickBooks programs for efficient and effective accounting processes.
· Maintain proficiency in accounting software and stay updated on new features and functionalities.
Qualifications:
Experience:
· 10 years of public accounting experience in a small to mid-size CPA firm.
· Proven track record in preparing tax returns and financial statements.
· Experience with audits of non-profit, governmental, and commercial entities.
Skills:
· Proficiency in CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Engagement, and QuickBooks is highly desirable.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
Education:
· CPA certification or active CPA candidate status required.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Benefits:
· Competitive salary range of $90,000-$120,000 annually, dependent on experience. – Background check is required.
